I'm sorry, but is there anyone else out there who thinks this is the most totally lame, unimaginative and ridiculous advertising scheme that a company could come up with?? Every time I see it I think, "What the hell were they thinking??" In my opinion, these commercials are obnoxious and make consumers look like idiots. In fact, I'm so totally turned off by it, I would intentionally stay away from Geico because I think this advertising campaign is so stupid.
On another note, I thought their gecko ads were pretty cute, imaginative and funny.

Maybe I'm just jaded because of my insurance experience from hell when my son had his accident in January. And maybe they're desperate because of the current economy. I don't know. But I do know that those ads don't give me the slightest desire to check "all the money I could be saving" with Geico.
Okay...I'm done venting. Back to working on the house.

Had the same feeling when I 1st saw the new commercials--how stupid!
I haven't seen the new ads yet. But I did notice in Money or Business Weekly that their new slick ad is letting everyone know that Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway owns them.
Warren Buffett and the Gecko. They Go Together Like Pie and Chips. (Do pie and chips go together?)
I don't get it but then we don't get American commercials here.
Ann - Thanks...at least I know I'm not the only one.
Beck and Wayne - You haven't missed anything by not seeing these ads. Frankly, I can't believe people were paid for coming up with this campaign.
