I'm tired of the waiting game...

I'm still waiting to hear what's happening on my deal. I'm tired of it. I've had basic inspections, termite inspections, surveys, appraisals...and still no closing date. I got a call from my agent a few days ago saying there was a "snag" in the deal because the buyers couldn't find a deed from some property they own in California, so closing wouldn't take place on the 17th like they wanted. Fine...then when IS it going to happen? Haven't heard anything since then. But I did get an e-mail from the title company with an attachment of the survey...which stated the owners as the buyers...not me. And I've gotten a notice in the mail from AT&T notifying the buyers that installation of their new internet service would be on July 29th. Fine...(again)...I guess everyone gets to know everything before me.

I'm waiting to hear something so I can arrange a trip to Isla in between closing and when I can move into my apartment. I guess that's not going to be happening anytime soon. Don't want to reserve an airline reservation and then hear that my closing has been changed. So, it's hurry up and wait.

So I listen to this on my way into work:

Between some things that have happened this week at work, it's going to be hard to come back if/when I do get to Isla.

Geez Deb. This is really dragging out! Was there a 'close on or before' date in the contract? Not that it would matter since you want to get the deal closed and not lose the buyer. Just from what I hear from my realtor friend, there seem to be a lot more snags in the loan process now for buyers.

Hope you get that fun trip to Isla scheduled soon! I just finished booking everything for October/November. Part of the lodging is at the Rocamar since they now have A/C in 3 rooms on each floor. I noticed on a website that they actually have those lower level rooms for $45 a night! I usually stay out of town, but the Rocamar was cheaper than my favorite studio a mile out. And the same crashing waves!

Thanks, ladies. Yes, Beck, the buyers signed an amendment awhile back saying closing would be no later than July 24th, which is less than two weeks away, so I would think I should be hearing something soon.

On the Isla note, I was thinking of trying the Rocamar this time, too. I just wish M&J's hadn't moved from that location!

Wow, Deb. What a grueling process it's turned out to be. I hope you close the deal soon and enjoy a hard-earned vacation!
