Okay, so one more post...

Only because I found a good airfare tonight. So I will be headed for this...

...on July 22nd. I be Isla bound...finally.

OH MY GOD!!!

My real estate agent called me on my way home from work tonight. Closing is at 11:00 a.m. this Friday. I have three days to pack everything up and move out!!! Yikes! Hopefully, my next post will be from Isla.

A totally non house-for-sale post...

I've been using my oldest son's desk for the past five years and since I'm getting rid of everything, he said he wanted his desk back. So Jared and I drove up to Austin today to return his desk and have lunch at...

I don't know whether Joe's Crab Shacks are only in Texas...no one we know in other states has ever heard of it. So, anyway...here's Jeff and Erica. I missed the opportunity to catch them putting food in their mouths this time...which I'm sure they're grateful for.

And here's Jared and me...all equipped with our bibs and crab eating tools because we ordered the big "crab fest" deal.

We sat outside because we wanted to enjoy the balmy Texas temperatures of about 105 degrees. These were the views from our table. (This is Lady Bird Lake on the south side of Austin.)

Here's my meal. I ordered two kinds of crab with clams.

Jeffrey ordered coconut shrimp.

And Jared ordered two kinds of crab with shrimp...which looks pretty identical to mine...

Except for these...

Jeffrey had never had clams so he wanted to try mine. He likes shrimp and crabs, but doesn't like things that taste too fishy. He said the clam tasted like ocean-flavored bubble gum. I guess he's not too much into clams. But everything was muy bueno and Jared and I were a mess by the time we were done. It's one of those meals where you feel like you need to take a shower afterwards.

Unfortunately, Erica is allergic to shellfish, so I didn't take a picture of the hamburger she ordered. She showed me the turtles that live in the lake. Whoa...they're a tad dirty, but worth a picture.

This guy sailed by while we were eating...

Then we had to check out the geese nearby. Apparently this group...flock...whatever...of geese are inbred and have a few problems as a result. Some of them have wings that are upside-down and always stand out to the side...

This poor guy had a set only on one side. Does that mean they fly upside-down?? Or sideways?? Who knows.

Anyway, the grouping offered a nice final shot.

So now my living room, dining room, spare bedroom and office are empty...and my computer is set up on my kitchen countertop. Time to move.

I'm tired of the waiting game...

I'm still waiting to hear what's happening on my deal. I'm tired of it. I've had basic inspections, termite inspections, surveys, appraisals...and still no closing date. I got a call from my agent a few days ago saying there was a "snag" in the deal because the buyers couldn't find a deed from some property they own in California, so closing wouldn't take place on the 17th like they wanted. Fine...then when IS it going to happen? Haven't heard anything since then. But I did get an e-mail from the title company with an attachment of the survey...which stated the owners as the buyers...not me. And I've gotten a notice in the mail from AT&T notifying the buyers that installation of their new internet service would be on July 29th. Fine...(again)...I guess everyone gets to know everything before me.

I'm waiting to hear something so I can arrange a trip to Isla in between closing and when I can move into my apartment. I guess that's not going to be happening anytime soon. Don't want to reserve an airline reservation and then hear that my closing has been changed. So, it's hurry up and wait.

So I listen to this on my way into work:

Between some things that have happened this week at work, it's going to be hard to come back if/when I do get to Isla.
